TESTIMONIALS

Excellent tour! The Wine Connoisseurs was extremely organized and planned a great experience taking the train in the Peloponnese with a small tasting onboard. Then to a hidden gem of a restaurant with another great tasting of wines! Thank you Adriana and Katerina for an amazing experience! Can’t wait to come back again.
My husband and I spent a wonderful day learning about Greek wines with Ms. Andriana. We did this tour with her on the last day of our holiday. So in addition to learning about viniculture in Nemea and tasting lovely Nemean wines, we learned more about the Greek wines we had tasted from other regions during our trip.
It was clear that she had developed good relations with two wineries we visited – Ms. Andriana curated the six wines we tasted at each winery. We tasted a few wines that the wineries did not include in their regular tasting sessions. We were also able to linger longer at each winery to chat and take photos.
We then had a delicious lunch at a local restaurant in new Nemea – she picked a lovely wine from another local winery that suited the range of dishes we had selected from the menu.
We highly recommend a tasting tour with Ms. Andriana when staying the Nafplio area – it took us only 1-hour to reach Nemea. Since her colleague, Mr. Matteo, did all the driving and Ms. Andriana was able to give full attention to our questions during the drive. We learned about Greek history, life, and economics during our tour and felt like we had made a new friends in Greece by the time we were dropped off at our bed & breakfast.
We had the BEST time exploring Nemea with Andriana on our honeymoon. We were staying in Athens and were met by a private driver in a very comfortable van on time in the morning. The communication was perfect from my initial email through the end of the tour.
Andriana made a customized booklet for our wine tour that educated us about the most important Greek grape varieties, as well as all of the wines we would be tasting. We started by going to the Ancient archaeological site of Nemea and the Nemean games, and visited two wineries: the Gofas family winery which had really wide ranging expressions of Greek wines, as well as Semeli, a larger winery, but one of the most beautiful we have ever seen @ 600meters above sea level.
Andriana made us big fans of Greek wines. Even though they are not as well known as other European wines, they deserve to be tried and respected! They match up with some of the best Italian and French wines we’ve had, and we were told all about the history of the region while we drank in comfort in both places. We finished at a traditional Greek taverna where we had an incredible lunch and washed it down with, you guessed it, more wine!
I cannot recommend the Wine Connoiseurs enough – they should be your first choice for any sort of wine tourism while in Greece. We will hopefully be back!

We chose a Wine Tour in Nemea. Since we all stayed in Athens there was a Mini Van with Chauffer that picked us from the hotel. The ride was lovely and Mrs Andriana is very knowledgeable around the cultural sites we came across. It was a blessing we had great weather the whole day.
In the winery the first thing that catches your eye is the view and a great start to get our appetite. The food was savory and the wines so pleasant and distinctive that some of our employees bought a bottle or two as a gift. The wine tasting was amusing, we learned a lot about the history of Greek wine, the wine making and we especially enjoyed the wine-themed games at the end.
We would like to thank Mrs Andrianna for a full and joyful day, the trip definitely brought us closer and we encourage other teams to have a corporate event with The Wine Connoisseurs!Cheers!!!

During our stay in Athens we had a very nice day with The Wine Connoisseurs.
They organised a full day tour visiting the Temple of Poseidon en the Strofilia winery.
Very punctual, very well informed, good and safe transportation.
I would definitely recommend The Wine Connoisseurs for wine related tours in Greece.

We have done wine tours in Italy, France and the US and this tour, led by the lovely and gracious Adriana was the best! We started with a prompt pick-up from our hotel in central Athens and within 40 minutes we were in the wine region of Markopoulo to taste some extremely high quality (the value was shocking) white wines. We walked the vineyards and learned about bush vines and spoke to vineyard-mangers and wine makers. All the while we tasted along with Adriana who provided a well prepared tasting book (above and beyond!) and her knowledgeable and charming company as well! It is worth every penny—we highly recommend!

We had such a lovely wine tour with Andriana through the Nemea wine region! It was a perfect day trip – we were picked up in the morning, then driven around to three wineries where we had tours of the wineries and tastings. In addition to having a delightful personality, Andriana has extensive knowledge of the region and wine making, and also has relationships with interesting wineries you would not find by touring yourself. We recommend The Wine Connoisseurs to anyone who would like a well-planned and high quality wine tasting experience!

This was a highlight of our trip. We did the Athens Wine Odyssey and just love it. We were picked up at our hotel in a nice luxury van with A/C and waters ready to go. Our first winery was amazing with a wine museum that had a lot of history that Adriana explained to us. She really knows all the history about Greek wine making and it was all very interesting. The wine was excellent. We then went to another winery again seeing the beautiful countryside and met with a very lovely winery owner that showed us around her winery and then tasted their wines which were amazing. We ended up buying wine at both places. We then went to a local Greek restaurant and had an excellent lunch and were able to enjoy more of the wines. I highly recommend this and give it 2 thumbs up!!

The wine tasting event was very well organized and we have learned a lot about the taste, smell and colour of the different sorts of wine. The wine-guide was well informed and gave us information in an interesting and entertaining way. Semelis wineyard was perfectly located and we could further enjoy the wine with a nice view until the sea. Ms. Foi and her team were very welcome and friendly. In the end we received nice gifts, a broschure with information regarding the wines we tried and nice pictures to remember those moments!
All in all: Excellent experience.

An enjoyable and excellent day out! Andriana and her team put together a great programme which took a full day. Pick up from our accommodation, followed by a drive through Patras to Achaia Clauss winery. A passionately presented tour of the Museum (a history of Greek wine making in itself) and the Imperial Cellar, before a highly knowledgeable and friendly wine tasting. A progressive range of white, rose, red and sweet wines, all enjoyable, ‘served’ with detailed information and background.
On to the completely different Mega Spileo (and related labels) winery at Aigio. We were walked through a contrasting modern and high volume wine and ouzo production facility, before being invited into the tasting room to sample many of the premium Mega Spileo wines. Again, a deeply informative and comprehensive presentation of their extensive range of wines, enjoyed in an interactive and fun extended discussion with the wine maker himself!
All followed by a rather late lunch by the sea on the Gulf of Corinth. We would recommend Wine Connoisseurs and this tour to anyone with an interest in – or who simply enjoys – good wines.

She took us to the Palivou Estate, Gaia and Seméli, where she had picked out some really ice wines for us to sample. She took good care of the kids too. They got some books, juice, cookies and other treats. The day ended with a three course dinner at a nice restaurant and some coffee at a coffee shop in Korinth. This was an educational and fun day! Highly recommend!

We had an excellent time with Andriana guiding us through 3 different wineries and wine tastings in the Nemea region. Tasted a lot of very nice wines and the kids got juice and cookies. We liked that the wineries were quite different, from the family and cozy atmosphere at Palivou to the larger more industrial layout at Semeli. We were picked up and dropped off were we were staying quite far away from the bigger touristy areas which was nice also. Can recommend this even if you have kids with as they enjoyed the day too.

Thank you so much for such an awesome day.! We loved everything that you planned for us. Our day wasn’t like being on a tour, it was like spending the day with a good friend. The only thing missing from our grape picking experience was that we didn’t get to stomp the grapes with our feet! We can’t wait to see the photos from the vineyard. I imagine some of them are pretty funny. I hope that our paths will cross sometime again in the future as well. If you ever come to the States, please look us up. In the meantime, my very best wishes for your continued success with your new business.

We had to remain in the city of Patras only for half day and we wanted to do something more than just wondering around ! So we chose the Wine Connoisseurs to take us to the Achaia Clauss winery for a private wine tasting experience! We tasted five premium wines and among them the famous variety of Mavrodaphne. The wine tasting was private in the Villa of Gustav Claus and then we had lunch that had been organized for us! We also visited the imperial cellar and the wine museum. Everything was as promised and the experience customized for us. Thank you Andriana for the lovely day we spent together!!

We visited Nemea following the tour “Drink like a God”.The guided tour to Ancient Nemea as well as the tour in Semeli estate were perfectly organized. We learnt a lot about Greece’s Wine History and indigenous grape variety of Agiorgitiko. Our wine taste included five wines and a Greek private meal in the winery which was tasteful. Andriana and Margarita were excellent hostesses!

Last afternoon I returned to my first years of dealing with the magic product called wine. Our great friend Andriana Foi, led us step by step through the most important vineyards of Greece, to the tasting of the most important Greek wine varieties. Without arrogance, without prejudice to the simplistic questions of the participants who began yesterday their acquaintance with wine.
In a modest but excellent setting, at Moxy hotel, with lots of dialogue, awareness sharing, teasing and jokes.
Our first wine tasting was very succeeded!!!
